| What to do in your Sonoma County garden in May. Set out container-grown, summer-blooming annuals and perennials. When the weather warms, plant tomatoes, peppers, and other summer vegetable, but watch out for any chance of a late frost! Sow seeds of beans, corn, cucumbers, and squash once the soil is warmed up. Thin fruit on fruit trees when it is dime sized in order to produce larger fruit and to cut down on codling moth infestations. Summer flowers such as marigolds, cosmos, and zinnias can be sown from seed now. Rhododendrons an azaleas can be fed right after they finish blooming. |
